Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, DeRay Davis can currently be "scene" keeping a live studio audience in comedic stitches as the Host of Ice Cube’s Hip Hop Squares (VH1). This while simultaneously honing his darkly stoic & deadly dramatic chops as Ex-Military Enforcer “Peaches” in his series regular role opposite Damson Idris (who plays Franklin Saint) on Season 2 of the wildly successful dramatic television series Snowfall (FX) with Director, Writer, Executive Producer, John Singleton. Davis transformed his torridly rough upbringing, streetwise mentality, status as a working actor and fatherhood into a live tour that stays fresh and ever changing according to whatever is happening in his daily life. He achieved his comedy career breakthrough at the Laffapalooza Festival in Atlanta and then scored a 3-peat by winning The Comedy Central Laugh Riots Competition and landing covetable spots in the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival as well as the Budweiser Def Comedy Jam Competition. To date, Davis continues to sell out venues worldwide with his authentic brand of “dynamic crossover comedy” due in part to his Critically Acclaimed Netflix Comedy Special - DeRay Davis: How to Act Black (2018).
