Because of their passion for comedy and their desperate desire not to practice law, the Comedians at Law joined together to travel the country, deliver their diverse and intelligent brand of humor, and entertain audiences at law schools, bar associations, law firms, comedy clubs and anyone else willing to cut a check that can be used to pay down their student loans.

The reaction has been overwhelming. Comedians at Law are in demand, and members of Comedians at Law have appeared on Fox News “On the Record,” CBS, Sirius/XM’s “Raw Dog” Comedy (as guests and as guest-hosts of their morning program), and in The Wall Street Journal and CNN.com. Comedians at Law: Good at Law. Better at Comedy.
Matt Ritter: Matt Ritter recently traded big law for the big stage. He graduated from the University Pennsylvania Law School and worked as a corporate lawyer at one of the top firm's in the country before leaving the law to pursue a career in entertainment. Matt’s voice can be heard both behind the camera as well as in front, center stage. Behind the camera, Matt is a writer and TV producer on various shows including A&E’s “Duck Dynasty” and Discovery's “Fat N’ Furious." He is also the co-creator of the television series “Chained to My Ex” which premiered on MSNBC recently to rave reviews, and he has sold scripted projects to Comedy Central and E! and is an on-camera host of multiple aftershows on Afterbuzz TV. Matt also carved out an interesting niche in the standup space: founding a troupe of lawyers turned comedians, aptly named the "Comedians at Law" and headlining across the country from the Hollywood Improv to Gotham Comedy Club as well as many corporate gigs. Additionally, Matt has been a guest commentator on various programs (CBS News, Fox News “On the Record”, NBC, MTV.com, ComedyTime TV, and Askmen.com), has guest hosted (Sirius XM “Raw Dog” Comedy) and is a writer for various publications (Above the Law, Bitter Lawyer, Readers Digest, and US Weekly).
Nancy Stanley: Nancy Stanley came late to both law and comedy after being in television news for twenty years, teaching political science for six years, and working as a stockbroker for one long year marked by searing trauma. She practiced law for about five minutes. Currently the Assistant Dean for Advancement at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, she also teaches journalism and runs a small nonprofit dedicated to international exchanges with groups from the former Soviet states. She created the quarterly “Estrogen Hour” live comedy show in Tucson, performs at benefits and open mics, and is a frequent guest speaker at gatherings of post-menopausal women, though younger audiences tend not to heckle too much because, you know, that’d be like dissing on your mom.
Bob Howard: Bob Howard is a lawyer licensed in Arizona in 1976. He has been doing standup comedy on a regular basis since taking a comedy class in1993. His credits include the Tempe Improv, the Comedy Spot, the Matazal Casino, the Comedy Barn and the Assisted Living Center in Heber. He was a winner of the Funniest Person in the Valley Contest n 2001, won the Phoenix Rotary 100 John O’Connor Humor Competition in 2013 and has opened for Wanda Sykes, Mark Cordes and Todd Glass.   He also tried out for Star Search and they offered to validate his parking.
Michael Turner: Michael Turner has been doing comedy in Phoenix since 2012. He is a co-producer on two of Phoenix's most popular shows appropriately named Literally The Worst Show Ever and This Week Sucks, Tonight! which is a weekly show that is livestreamed on Facebook every Thursday at 11 PM. The show will also feature Shapel Lacey, Jessie Johnson, Anwar Newton and Michael Longfellow.
